Thomas Design Associates was founded on the belief that environmental sustainability, cost containment, and energy savings in quality built homes were the trend of the future. Research and real estate experience pointed to system-built modular construction as the solution.

Thomas Giovannoli

President and founder, Tom spent over two decades in the real estate and building industry. He completes the picture of architect, builder, buyer, contractor. He has been a part of the past, understands the present, and envisions where the future lies.

Prior to forming TDA, Tom was Vice President/Development Manager for Merrill Lynch & Company. He earned a BFA Degree from MICA, the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Md.

John P. Szakats

John Szakats is TDA’s Development Manager responsible for project management and construction as well as business development. We salute John for his successful development and launch of our new property /home maintenance division.

Prior to joining TDA in 2009, John was a Division Vice President with Toll Brothers’ Central NJ Division of Luxury New Homes. His 14 years with this Fortune 500 Company garnered him experience in all phases of real estate construction and management.

Melissa Jones

Every successful company needs a responsible, personable, efficient office manager. At TDA, that person is Melissa Jones. In her role as OM, Melissa is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office including accounting, marketing, property management.

Melissa has worked in several industries including construction and brings a wide variety of skills to our organization.
